Binds the moulding sand so moulds hold their shape when metal is poured.
Forms: lumps and powder
Green-sand moulds are mostly silica sand held together by bentonite and water. The bentonite has to swell and bind well, and the sand has to be clean and the right size.
We supply bentonite and silica sand in bulk or bags, with swelling index and grain size on the lab report.
